Ladies Latin Workshop
The fantastic Maryna will run a one off Ladies Latin Workshop.
On Saturday 25th October from 1pm until 2:30pm at Phoenix Dance Studio.
$30 for an hour and a half of super sexy, slinky, styling and technique for your latin dances.
This Ladies Latin Workshop is open to everyone. All levels are welcome and you don’t even have to be enrolled at Phoenix Dance Studio to come and join this class.
You will learn and improve your latin technique, movement and styling across several dances.
In 2011 Maryna graduated from the National University of Physical Education and Sport of Ukraine. Since then she has competed and performed throughout Europe including silver in The World Dance Cup (Yalta,Ukraine)2013 and the IDF (International Dance Federation) World Championship finalist in 2013 (Nagykanizsa, Hungary)
If you’re lucky enough to have seen Maryna dance then I’m sure that you want to push your own latin dancing forward and will know that she’s just the lady to help you do that.

It’s this Saturday!
What’s happening this Saturday? Well strap yourselves in ladies and gentlemen, this Saturday evening at Phoenix Dance Studio we will have:
- Everyone dancing on the floor to great music.
- Door Prize (Dinner for Two)
- More dancing
- Students dancing hard for their Medal Exams
- Three instructor floorshows
- Even more dancing
- A glass of bubbly on arrival
- A half hour group class at the start to get you all going
- Best dancer of the night prize
- Some live singing as you dance
All this is $25 for students and just $10 for guests!
See you all on the dance floor on Saturday night.
Sarah’s Salsa
Salsa at Showcase Challenge 2014.
Each year, any student that’s feeling brave enough can put their name down for the Phoenix Dance Studio Showcase Challenge. Then just 5 weeks before they have to perform their uniquely choreographed routine in front of the studio and guests, we select the dance style at random!
It could be something that they feel pretty confident with or maybe a dance style that they have never even tried before, but either way Sarah and 8 other brave souls rose to the challenge and performed some fantastic routines.
This year the dances drawn were (in no particular order) English Tango, Salsa, Waltz, Swing, Rumba, Jive, Quickstep, Samba and Merengue.

We’re proud of all the students and instructors who put in a ton of effort to present such entertaining routines in a very short space of time.

Showcase Challenge!
Showcase Challenge is getting close!
The first week and a half of choreography and rehearsal has gone flying past already. It’s all very exciting putting it all together. We’ve got students working on routines for Cha Cha Cha, Waltz, Samba, Rumba, English Tango, Salsa, Quickstep, Jive, Merengue and Swing! Each of these dance styles have their own unique challenges and each of our dancers is having a unique showcase routine choreographed for them. Any time your in at Phoenix Dance Studio you’ll see people working hard on their dances for 9th August.
Remember, if you don’t have your tickets for the Showcase Challenge night yet or are likely to need more, get them sorted out quickly as this one is likely to be a sold out event. Just talk to your instructor or call the studio and we can help you arrange that.
It’s been great to see everybody pushing themselves, whether it’s with a favourite style or something a bit out of the comfort zone, all the entrants are really going for it.

Contestants have 5 weeks to learn a uniquely choreographed performance in a dance style chosen at random. On the night of the challenge they have to perform to the crowd in full costume and nail it.
